The New Year

Sun Jan 3, 2010, 1:38 PM
Happy New Year! I'm trying to stay optimistic about this one. It has the potential to be a big year. Rumor has it that mid-March is the for reals date set for the fire academy graduation having been pushed back from February. I should also be getting my braces off Septemberish (hopefully sooner). My school loans should be paid off by March too. With all that being said I'm kinda wanting to move out just because it feels like the right time and I have waaaaaay too much crap to fit in the house. I didn't get the chance last year as planned but with a raise and a loan down I think this year looks more hopeful. Resolution wise, I'm getting back on the art kick, the time at the academy kinda put a kibosh on it but I'm working on stuff now and you'll start seeing more and more as I get my days off. I plan on keeping up the rigorous workout routine after the fire academy as I'm in the best shape of my life and it feels really good. Apart from that I'll play it by ear as usual, but a few surprises this year might be a good thing.

And so on...

Thinks are going well, or at least as well as can be expected. I just finished up the first half of the fire academy and am ready to get the second half over and done with. There's been some down time, rather, time where I have to do less work as usual, that I've been using to work on art. I've been keeping up with it even though its been really difficult. I have a sale coming up in December that will be a nice change of pace. I was also volunteered to run a 5k Thanksgiving morning which is a slightly less desirable pace to change to, but meh, exercise is good I guess. Apart from that there's been little fun and even less time to do it in. Anywho it's nap time.

Nostalgia

Sun Oct 25, 2009, 11:00 PM
The time has come where I have run out of space on my digital camera (sobs), and so rather than buying additional memory that I would lose and/or confuse myself with where I put certain images, I sorted through all my photos and got rid of all the junk shots and stuff that wasn't important anymore. It was a weird experience looking back through it all. There were pictures from the beginning of college, art stuff, birthdays, the cover band competition I won, weddings, graduations, California, friends that moved away, good and bad times, and more recently the fire academy. I'm definitely the nostalgic type, but it was weird looking back on my own life, (and then deleting parts of it from recorded memory...something I hate doing just on principal, even if the photos are crap if only to say that I existed at that place,at that time, with those people.) I didn't much care for it after thinking about it, but then again I feel bad throwing out old or broken toys because of them somehow feeling undeserving or mad because of all the enjoyment they provided at one time. I also came across a few photos that mean more than I care to admit that I forgot even existed, which I'm glad I found (they gave me a warm fuzzy inside). On top of that I found some art that I never put up because I either forgot about it, didn't know it existed, or changed my mind as to if it's art or not. Anywho, enjoy.

Coming Soon! Time Line: Year 1

Fri Aug 7, 2009, 10:43 PM
So I just noticed that it's been a little over a year since I started a weekly photo time lime that I hoped to continue indefinitely so that I might pinpoint the exact moment I become old. I started up and then ended up stopping for some reason during November and December of 2008, but as of 2009 I haven't skipped at all (maybe a day or two because of being out of town. It's been a crazy year haircuts, beards, pimples, braces, sleep deprivation... it's all in the photos. It'll be interesting to look back on the year and all it's events and see how my body took it. I think I need to go through all the photos and eliminate the background, date them, and line them all up to create a more "scientific" comparison, but keep an open eye.

Today, and quite early for me to be awake on a weekend, I bought a fancy new car in anticipation of joining the fire department, so I can cart myself around (also my art stuffs too). It's a 2009 Honda Accord Coupe, It's rather shiny and I like it lots.
